Has anybody used this and gotten results? I'm thinking of changing up shampoos.
Thanks

Re: My Elsom Topicals Review
Well, I still think Elsom is helping, but at this point I can clearly say it is not going to give any significant regrowth for me. Also, I've been on Fin with dosage varying from 1mg down to .6mg and now back up to .72mg daily for almost 3 years. I have come to the conclusion that if your hair wants...

Re: My Elsom Topicals Review
@justthin: no new pics at the moment, I need a few months of solid recovery time from all these recent sheds before I post any new pics. I will say though, since I have started rerubbing this stuff in again, there is no doubt that hairs have sprouted up at the temples. My head as a whole is still a trainwreck, but I do see some incremental improvement.
@Joey: Here is my full regimen of late...
Shampoo: Rotate between the following: Elsom Micellerin Green, Nioxin System 2 shamp+cond, and Nizoral 2%
Topicals: Every Morning = Lamas Scalp Serum, Every Afternoon (without washing head): Super Zix II, Rotation at night (with washing head + rerubbing the topicals): Elsom Scalpxtreme, juveline, and nanoscalp.
Internals: about 0.6mg finasteride daily.
I have dropped the vitamins, as I believe they were giving me brain fog and headaches. I plan on reintroducing them one at a time to find out which was giving me the issue.
I have also stopped (at least temporarily) the laser helmet... I have finally come to the conclusion that it wasn't doing %&$!, and was taking way too much of my time.
Some comments... I stopped using Super Zix II for about 2 months. There is absolutely no doubt that the super zix is helping. If I fail to apply super zix in the afternoon, my head is ALWAYS itchy by night. One application of lamas is simply not enough to hold my head over for 12+ hours.
Also, I am not the biggest fan of the nioxin. I feel like the shampoo is overly harsh, and I plan on changing it to something else.
In any case, the regimen above has stabilized my recent shed, and given me sprouts along the hair line. I plan on continuing it for at least a couple months and see if I can't grow back some of this hair I just lost.

I don't use the elsom terminals, I use a couple of different Elsom products. I blame the beginning of this shed on starting lamas... it started out looking like a "good" shed, but it lasted a lot longer than I think it should have. @Joey, the hair growing side effect of finasteride was also discovered by accident. The drug was (and still is) intended for people with prostate issues. I started this topical around 1.5-2 months ago, the past 3 weeks has been some pretty brutal shedding. This has always been a good sign for me (and most of the hairs were of the weaker variety). I, for one, will be sticking through the shed. I have high hopes for this topical.

Re: My Elsom Topicals Review
Update.
So I cut my hair down to a number 8 again, and I must say... my hair is improving tremendously. Compared to about 2 or 3 months ago it's definitely moving in the right direction. I would say I am fast approaching no visible baldness even to my own eyes, which are like laser guided bald detectors.
I've taken a couple photos I will upload later. There is visible improvement, but IMO it doesn't tell the whole story.
I'm still hopeful for further improvement though, and would not be satisfied if my hair stopped where it is.
So, do I recommend the topicals? Yes, with a but. If you read my whole regimen above, I do a ridiculous amount of %&$! to try to keep my hair. I think every part of my regimen plays a role, and I don't think using any one of them alone would be near as effective as the entire regimen. That said, I think Elsom topicals has had the most impact in terms of recovery.

Re: Dermatopoietin-activates expression of all skin tissue relevant growth and differentiation factors like HGF, KGF and TNF-alpha
IMO you guys really need to be careful with these growth factor products. Damn near everything in the body has negative feedback loops, and multiple sources have already confirmed they exist for the growth factors in these products.
What does that mean? That means your body will stop producing natural growth factors, and in addition, it will likely down regulate the number of cellular receptors ... which means what? More and more product will be needed for the same effect, and eventually no amount of product will be able to counter the lack of receptors... then your hair is in for some %&$!, and whatever else depends on these growth factor receptors is also in for some %&$!.
It might even be BENEFICIAL (long term) to take time between applications. If your body has "time off" between growth factor applications it might not down regulate cellular receptors at all, and so later down the road, you will continue to have success because you haven't grown resistant, while those who pound the product day after day will do better initially and crash later on. Slow but steady fellas....
