Need A Conditioner
Hello! I am brand new to this forum and am looking for help. I am a woman who has been suffering from hair loss for a while now. I have had thinning hair for the last 10-15 years, and in addition, I have dry hair. I have tried using Minoxidil and different ketoconazole shampoos, but haven't found any good conditioners. Does anyone have recommendations? Also, are there key ingredients I should be looking for in my conditioners than could help the thinning? Any feedback is appreciated!
Thanks,
Steph
Thanks,
Steph

Hello and welcome
Off the top of my head there's Lamas' http://www.peterlamas.com/h_chconditioner.php and Andalou's http://andalou.com/index.php/haircare/a ... ioner.html and DermaHeal's http://dermahealusa.com/shop-products/h ... -pack.html and RepHair's http://www.rephairbypierremichel.com/ Each has active/key ingredients that are good for hair loss. I don't think there's any one "key" ingred or ingreds to look for...so many things out there that can help.
And btw..this better not be a set-up for a certain keto conditioner out there..that's been spammed here and elsewhere But anyway..maybe others can chime in..I think Natasha may have some favs of her own.

Re: Need A Conditioner
Hello Welcome to the forum.
I would recommend for hair conditioner Phytokarite mask, Phytospecific Intense Nutrition Mask but the most effective, instant-result mask is the Philip Kingsley Elasticizer pre-shampoo mask. I use it as conditioner after shampooing and it instantly softens the hair.
On the more expensive side, I am currently using Kerastase Oleo Relax Mask, Valmont Restoring Mask and Kerastase Chronologiste. All these are amazing to make the hair become alive.
What Jacob recommended is also great, I have used the Peter Lamas Conditioner and it is very hydrating.
Jacob, I am currently very down as I AM LOSING 300 Hairs when I wash my hair. I am stressed and whenever I am stressed I lose alot of hair and when that happen nothing helps. Not even the most effective hair loss treatment with which I usually have great results.
I read in a forum that there are many people that lose 300 hairs but they dont go bald, the hair grows back but I feel very upset as I already see my scalp at the front partings.

@Jacob;
Why don't you like the keto conditioner brand? Thanks for the info on the Lama. I will definitely check it out. I Iile that Natasha has used it before and likes it too.
@Natasha:
Thank you for all of the recommendations. I know the Kerastase has a lot of great products. I really appreciate both of your guys' help! Now I need to look into these products a bit more. Also, good luck with your battle!

The one I'm referring to was spamm'd around the hair loss sites/forums. That's reason enough not to like it. I'm not even going to name it

Well that's not good to hear. Are you taking anything for the stress?Natasha26 wrote:

When the hair has "shedding" episode, nothing can halt it. It just sheds and then get back to normal.
Does anyone suffer from excessive shedding during change of season?

Thanks for another recommendation. One of the ingredients is Blood of the Dragon Rare Proteins. Have you heard of this before? It's sounds like something out of Harry Potter! Ha ha.Jacob wrote:The one I'm referring to was spamm'd around the hair loss sites/forums. That's reason enough not to like it. I'm not even going to name it

Re: Need A Conditioner
Yep..have used their hair gel which also contains it. Here's a small thread on Dragon's Blood: http://www.hairlossfight.com/forums/vie ... 1862&hilit I know I've posted more about it years ago in other forums.
I've become very interested in natural colognes..and there are some Dragon's Blood colognes as well

Re: Need A Conditioner
Welcome aboard Steph peters.
This might help for you in finding the right conditioner for your hair.
Things that do not help in a conditioner:
1. Eggs contain a protein that hair CANNOT absorb and adds no value to a product other
than as a marketing tool
2. Carrot oil – used for aroma and color, not for hair health.
3. Aloe – aids healing in burns but is only effective in living skin, not hair.
4. Vitamin E – this is a nutrient. Your hair doesn’t eat.
5. Malt – appears mostly in men’s shampoos but isn’t the most effective protein option.
6. Vitamin – only B5 helps because it contains panthenol.
7. Birch and all other herbs – birch is good when dabbed directly on an oily scalp for its
astringent properties. All herbs effectiveness are totally lost when mixed in a shampoo.
8. Honey – does nothing to hair and is totally water soluble, so it gets rinsed out.
9. Jojoba – yes, it’s good while it’s on your hair, but it’s also water soluble, so it gets rinsed
out..

Re: Need A Conditioner
I haven't logged in here in so long. Thank you for this post, even if I'm just reading it now! Since my last posts, I've tried a few different conditioners. I'm currently using Yes to carrots relief conditioner. I like the way it works, and it doesn't weigh down my hair. I like the tea tree in it too!Junavo wrote:Welcome aboard Steph peters.

Re: Need A Conditioner
I wld advice you to use a homemade conditioner than a conditioner from the store. As you and I know that thinnning of hair problem is from inside the body and not from outside the body. But still it will make a difference if used some home made recepies to take care of hair

Re: Need A Conditioner
I recommend homemade conditioner and also consider the below points:
Always use a wide bristled brush which has wooden bristles instead of plastic bristles.
Don't subject your hair to frequent, constant heating and drying procedures.
Avoid layering cuts that lose a lot of your hair.
Avoid brushing wet hair.
Avoid rubbing hair vigorously with a towel after washing it.
Get your stress under control
Be sure to get adequate sleep.
Some medications can slow or even prevent hair loss
