Actually I probably should have said(and which is what I thought at Walmart)..thank God it has PG etc in it, as the ingreds do look good, but I have no way of fitting it into my regiment.

It's also nice that it's available at Walmart. But would I go through the checkout with it? :-k

I wouldn't be too worried with checking out at the store with it. It doesn't scream anything by looking at the box design. Especially since it shows a guy with full head of hair. Most will think its just a hair healthy treatment for split ends, like a hot oil treatment.

Swimmy...don't you ever get those cashiers that have to look at something and say something about it if it catches their eye or is new etc.. I guess it's not too much to be worried about. I do see it's available at Amazon and drugstore.com etc too....

I haven't tried either one of them. Telostatin's been out since I got in to this game and has been re-branded a few different times over the years. Nothing wrong with private label products or whatever... just saying.

Long time lurker here. I posted some a while back on the Regrowth forums...

Anyway, I've thrown my hair into the ring and purchased this product a couple of days ago, so I've been using it for two days total. I was having a bit of an itchy burning scalp because I've been lax on doing anything about my hair loss and I will say that this stuff makes my scalp feel pretty good. The shampoo smells good and leaves my hair feeling nice. The topical isn't greasy, but I've always had a problem getting them to my scalp because I have longish hair (3-4in). The topical makes the hair stiff like a gel would.

I plan on doing this until the bottles run out which I estimate to be in line with what the bottle says, ie 90 days. I'll keep everyone informed if anything happens. I am happy that my itching is dying down though.

Update:

I've used both for a bit now. The shampoo is good. Nothing spectacular. There's better stuff out there that we know about. As for the leave in treatment I like it better than the shampoo. It does make your hair stiff and by morning will leave your hair flaky. So you cant go out in public with it. I think the treatment stuff does a good job at conditioning your hair and making it thicker. However, no regrowth. This is something I might use once or twice a week just to condition my hair similar to hot oil treatments. In the end I don't think its gonna do much for genetic hair loss.

I've been using the treatement for about 3 weeks and really havent seen any effect. This is my 1st attempt at treating my hair loss. I am using this in combination with Nizoral (over the counter). I dont know if I'm just being paranoid but it almost seems like im losing more hair now. I always find about 6-8 pieces of hair in my hand when i shower. This product is a bit of pain. Like posted earlier you cant go out with it because of the flakes and it ask that you apply at least 4 hours before you go to bed. Anyone have any other sugguestions for me. I'm very new to this and very desperate.

What would a better sugguestion be? There are so many options out and so many that I've read dont work. I've been looking at some regroth pills from OOKISA. What would you recommend?

I too feel as though I may be losing more now...although isn't that how pretty much every other hair loss treatment works? At first there is shedding and then it comes back in thicker? or not?..

I really have no clue as to how these are suppose to work. I'm kind of freaking out now. Before i would notice some fall out when i shampooed but now if I run my hand through my hair I usually come up with a couple of strands. I really dont know what to do. Any sugguestions would really help me out.

Well no one here is really comfortable with making suggestions for other people when it comes to hair. Since certain things work for certain people and not others.

If anything I would go with Bioclin-Stimucap since it seems to be the most promising..Maybe the bicolin shampoo to since it was used in the studies also? Of course maybe the shampoo Bocor is trying wouldn't be too bad. I seen the ingredients and they look really good. But I have to finish off my current shampoo before I try it

But here's a small list of things that would be worth a try

Bioclin

Elsoms hair products

Dermatopoietin

Just bought this today @ walmart. I wanted to check the reviews on this. From what I'm reading doesn't sound promising, However I will start this tomorrow. I'm taking before and after pics to see if there is any improvements as the weeks go by. O:)

I've been using it for about 3 weeks so far. I do like the shampoo as it seems to clean the hair really well and I like the way is smells. The topical, like most topicals really, is a pain to put on, but at least it isn't runny. Anyway, I haven't noticed too much yet. The only "result" I've had is rather ambiguous but it makes my hair feel stronger (as in less resistant to pull out). I'm still shedding about the same as before. I plan to keep using it until it's all gone, but I'm not expecting any miracles, just as I don't expect miracles out of anything else I try. It does make my scalp feel more normal, as in no burning or itchiness.

I've tried various things throughout the years and I have to say it has been an extremely frustrating 18 years. Nothing really works or I don't get to use it long enough to really know if it works due to side effects, some of which have been too terrible for words.

HairSil Accelerator is my latest attempt at stopping this dreaded hairloss. I saw the HairSil Accelerator at Walgreens. I made sure it did not contain anything remotely labled Copper Peptides, which I had a horrible reaction to in the past. It didn't, so I purchased it and have been using it for about two weeks. I must say I was completely doubtful, thinking it must surely be more snake oil. But for some reason the "Created by a Molecular Biologist" claim on the box got my interest, though I thought even that might be a big crock. I decided to purchase the yellow box anyway. The liquid smelled OK, even though it was an ugly brown color.

The application of the liquid is not too bad. After applying it I just brush my hair and it dries fairly quickly. It doesn't feel greasy.

I'm always afraid to get my hopes up, but so far my hairloss seems to have pretty much stopped. I used to grab at my hair and there would always be five or six hairs in my hand every time I pulled. I grab at my hair now and most of the time I don't have any hair in my hand. Maybe one hair here and there, but compared to before that's nothing. I guess I shouldn't say completely stopped because I did notice that when I ran my hands through my hair as I shook my head over the sink, some hair still fell out, but the pulling test seems promising. We'll have to see if it lasts, see if things improve and see if there is new hairgrowth several months from now.

I have only been using it for two weeks, so it's too early to tell if this product is truly working. Dare I get my hopes up? I'll keep you guys posted.

Something positive that I have noticed after I began using the HairSil Accelerator treatment (The various Walgreen's in my area don't sell the shampoo) is that my scalp no longer feels tender and/or itchy in spots. It feels normal now. Also, the hair also seems to feel a little thicker, but I can't be completely sure about this. Hairloss definitely sucks.

Well, I'm near the end of week 5 using HairSil. Hair texture has felt better since using this. Even at week 2 it felt better. It's more manageable. I believe, but can't be completely sure yet, that HairSil has slowed down hair shedding, but not completely eliminated it. If that's the case, then I wish I had known about this stuff a few years ago, before I lost so much hair and before the individual hairs got so thin. They claim something like 33% experienced regrowth after 12 weeks. Either these types of claims are bunk or I always seem not to fall in this percentile. We shall see. Regrowth would be very nice, since I'm very worried about the future. My hair has been getting thinner and falling out not only on the top, but the sides as well. Not good. Wish there were more people out there posting their results. Not too much information on this.

I have a typical African American grade of hair. I bought this product on 6/19/11 from Walmart and began using it the same day. My hair was thinning badly in the front and middle of my head to the point where my scalp was beginning to show. After reading the reviews on this page, I put the bottles back on the shelf and said forget it. I walked around Walmart to pick up a few more items and then came back and said to myself what do I have to lose! So I paid the $27 bucks and change for the shampoo and conditioner, and began using it the same night.

As of today 7/7/11 my hair has completely stopped thinning and has began to noticeably thicken in the middle and front. Even my barber has noticed the difference. Also my hair texture has improved tremendously. My texture had been kinda stiff and straight for the last few years. After leaving the barber today, I noticed my natural wave pattern starting to come back.

I will report another update in the next few weeks. At this point I would recommend this product to everyone I know.

i am 64 & have been battling this hair issue for 17 long years. in the past few, upon the recommendation of the truth in beauty website, i have been using folligen's hair signals. it's a solution you leave on overnight & shampoo out in the a.m. i believe it's a copper peptide solution. i have used this faithfully & it has improved my hair a little--it grows faster--but no regrowth & there continued to be a lot of shedding.

just saw the hair-sil advertised & since it's relatively cheap, gave it a whirl. they were out of the shampoo at rite-aid so i don't know how that works. but i love, love, love this product. it seems to be perfect for my kind of hair--fine, limp, no body. as per instructions, i just use a little & rub it into the scalp. amazingly enough, instant body & fullness. no smell. i didn't wash it out the next day--the hair looked too good! applied more the next night. still didn't need to wash it the next day & my hair is long. when i did wash my hair, it retained the body. for the first time in eons, i skipped the mousse.

obviously i haven't been using it long enough to see if it does regrow hair, but i almost don't care. the thin spots on top of my head & on one side don't show now. almost no shedding. & i can stop washing it every minute. i am seriously thrilled.
