hair fungus
My daughter has large square like patches of hair missing. The scalp is completely smoooth no sign of hair, bumps, scales just as smooth as the day she was born. She is 7yrs old. No sign of ringworm like circles, nothing but smooth skin. No itching. Could this still be ringworm?
I am so worried. THe doctor prescribed griseofulvin and said it did not look like ringworm but this is the first line of treament. HELP!
The condistion that you are describing sounds more like the condition alopecia areata than a fungus infection (ringworm), as the latter usually has redness, flaking and often some itching. I suggest that you see a dermatologist for an evaluation.
