Hair Loss prevention while on accutane
Dr. Bernstein,
I just started taking Accutane and while my derm tells me that less than 10% of patients experience hair loss, each and every person that I have spoken to who used accutane experienced hair loss and there are countless forums where other accutane users blog about hair loss during or immediately after Accutane treatment. Is there anything I can do to prevent the hair loss altogether? I believe hair loss will cause me as much if not more greif than the acne has.

Hair loss from accutane is probably a bit higher than 10%, but by no means guaranteed. If you have scarring acne, and your doctor suggests accutane, then I would use it. The hair loss from accutane can not be prevented, but it is generally mild, if it occurs.
