vitamins or herbs to treat frontal receding
i hear saw palmetto, and biotin help. is it a marketing scam.
If you've got male pattern hair loss, saw palmetto and biotin are considered 'long-shots' in terms of effectiveness. In other words, there's little scientific data to support their use. Therefore, I always recommend the FDA-approved treatments first.
Unfortunately, even the FDA-approved medications (Propecia/finasteride and Rogaine/minoxidil) are not very effective in restoring hair in the frontal area. If you have loss of the frontal hairline, the treatment of choice is typically hair transplantation. Hair transplants are not 'for everyone' but they are extremely effective at restoring living and growing hair to the thinning or balding area.
Today, we can perform hair transplantation without leaving behind a linear scar in the back of the scalp. This method, called Follicular Unit Extraction (FUE) is now performed using the NeoGraft device which is faster and more efficient. For more information on FUE, NeoGraft or more traditional hair transplant procedures, visit www.baumanmedical.com
