Related to Provilius Medicine
Hi,
I have heard a lot about Provilius medicine that can not only stop hair loss but also helps in regaining the hairs that are lost. Could you please let me know how effective it is and will there be any side effects while using that?
Thanks
Rox,
Thank you for your question. I can certainly appreciate the fact that you are looking for a simple and easy treatment for your thinning hair.
However, first, let's be clear. Provillus is NOT a medicine, it is a nutritional supplement. Provillus does NOT contain any fda-approved ingredient for hair growth. On their site, they claim it contains a "proprietary blend of natural herbs and plants" to reduce hair thinning. This is a blatant violation of the FDA's regulations, unless they have peer-reviewed, scientific, clinical trials, which they certainly DO NOT. Since there's no scientific studies, they don't have to report side-effects.
I'm not saying that it absolutely cannot work, but what I am saying is that it would be a very, very big LONG-SHOT! Stick with a medical evaluation from a hair loss specialist who has experience in women with thinning hair and someone who recommends fda-approved treatments (minoxdil, etc.) first. Seek the advice of a board-certified hair restoration physician. Research them at IAHRS.org or AHLA.org. Hair loss is a medically-treatable condition.
Good luck and keep us posted.
Sincerely,
Dr. Bauman
