Starting meds in between norwood I and II
Hello, I'm 24 years old and I have just been to a really well known clinic in London to discuss my temporal recession. They said that I'm in between a Norwood I and II. I asked them if it could be a "mature hairline" and they kind of gave me a strange look. She suggested that I start minox and propecia but I don't really want to if I'm just getting a mature hairline. I am wondering if they just want my money or they actually think it's what I should do. Thanks for your time and I'm sorry if you've had anything on this before
If you are seeing increased temporal recession at age 24, this is likely male pattern hair loss. "Mature" hairlines typically appear from age 16-21, not in the mid to late twenties. Do you have MPB in the family? Have you had the genetic test for baldness? How far has your hairline moved in the past few years? Is there decreased density and/or hair caliber elsewhere? These are signs that MPB is continuing. Propecia works to stop the loss 90% of the time, so it's a good treatment option. If you'd like an evaluation of your photos, this can be done via www.baumanmedical.com or doctorb@baumanmedical.com Keep in mind there is a fee for consultations. Good luck and keep us posted.
