scarring alopecia

Question

I really do not know much about scarring alopecia and my dermatologist doesn't seem to either. I am not sure if I have oily scalp or dry? I do have the scarring around the small bald spots which I thought was sebum? I have small scabs on top around the bald areas and wonder if those hinder a healthy response? I use T-sal but doesn't seem to get rid of the scabs. I also use Rogaine 2%. And my doctor did have me on cortizone shampoo and foam for itching. I have frizzy hair so like to use a conditoner for that too, however I feel I made need something to fight DHT? I am 58, female. Thank you

You need to see a dermatologist whom specializes in hair loss to correctly diagnose your problem before you initiate any treatment.
