Gen-clobetasol scalp lotion

Question

Hi I am suffering from Seborrheic Dermatitis. I just started using nizoral shampoo however my doctor told me to also use gen-clobetasol scalp 0.05%lotion. My concern with this lotion is that it has alcohol in it and smells like alcohol quite strongly. I have read that alcohol can be very harmful to scalp hair. Should I still proceed to use it or should I go and talk to my doctor about this?

Answer

Generally patients with seborrheic dermatitis do well with use of scalp lotions and solutions even with high content of alcohol. You may always use the foam form of clobetasol-Olux Foam.
