Irritated red spot
On the top back of my head I have half-dollar size patch that won't grow hair. The scalp in this area is red compared to the rest of my scalp and it often itches and is irritating. I also have some other problems. A couple months ago my scalp was really itchy and was producing dandruff. But the dandruff I was experiecing was really what looked like flakes of dry scalp. I'm not sure if dandruff is in a flake form or not?? Along with this, I sometimes experiece 'hair pain'. Like if I run my hands through my hair or if it is windy outside, the root of my hair hurts. This doesn't happen all the time, but it is bothersome. I would just like to know what I can do to stop these problems. thank you
It is hard to diagnose your condition over the internet, but you may be experiencing either alopecia areata or a patch of dandruff or an irritant dermatitis. My recommendation is to see a dermatologist to do a complete exam to diagnose your condition before you embark on any treatment.
