seborrheic dermatitis and hair loss
Dear Dr. B,
A couple years ago I started having really bad dandruff and itching. I noticed my hair started falling out. I went to my family doctor and he said that I had seborrheic dermatitis and put me on Nizoral shampoo. The shampoo worked for awhile, but then I became immune to it(I guess you would say). I then went to the dermatologist and she prescribed me a topical solution. It never helped at all and caused my scalp to get red and itch even worse. I used it for about 2 days and quit. I am now on selsun blue but doesn't seem to be helping. My scalp still itches and my hair still falls out, and getting thinner by the day. In the winter, my skin gets really scaly and dry. What would you recommend??
Thanks
It would be impossible to diagnose your situation and recommend treatment. The best advice I can give is to return to your Derm who prescribed the treatments. Continuity of care is your best bet.
Sincerely,
