Dr. Jones is among the first physicians in North America to add micro follicular unit extraction (FUE) - scalpel-free hair transplants to his practice. He has been practicing from his hair transplant center in Oakville (near Toronto) Ontario for many years, but since he started using the micro follicular unit extraction technique he has become a leader in the field.

questions regarding surgical procedures
could you please answer the following questions? i've recently considered surgical procedures for my hair loss and i'd like to be informed as much as possible.
what is meant by transection?
what is the stereoscopic microscope and do you use it at your facility?
i've read that fue increases the surface area of donor hair being exposed to excision while strip excision affects a smaller surface area (limiting damage to surrounding follicles). is this true?
lastly, which procedure would you prefer done on you, fue or strip?
Hello Thomas,
Yes, I use the stereoscopic microscope in my practice. It is essential to create good grafts and get good growth. Without it you destroy good grafts by cutting them in two ( transecting them)
I also do fue. It prevents scarring in the donor area. I was the first doctor in North America to do fue,
