caused by medicine?
I noticed my hair thinning (female) around the end of October 2004. Since thanksgiving and Christmas were on my mind I didn't dwell on it. But after the 1st of the year i noticed it was really becoming noticable in the front section of my head. I never notice hairs on my comb or brush or hairs in my sink. It just seemed to be diaapearing. I though about what was different in my life. The only thing I could come up with was started taking Lipator (sp) about that time for a slightly elevated cholestrol count. Since I have diabetes 2, but under control my Dr. prescribed Lipator. I went to the Dr last week and discussed my findings. She looked up the medicine and said it was a little known side effect of the medicine. But not wide spread. So at her suggestion if have not taken any more. My question is: will my hair grow back? Can I do anything or take anything to help it grow back.
Thank you.

Wanda,
At my clinic we offer treatments and procedures to maintain and restore hair. While the hair loss may have been exacerbated by the medication you are taking, it is very likely that you were already prone to hair loss because of genetics. Do you have any family members with hair loss?
Please let me know if you can submit photos of your hair loss staus to my email: doctorb@baumanmedical.com for evaluation. We are looking forward to helping you.
Sincerely,
Dr. B.
