Ok to self treat hairloss?

Question

My derm diagnosed me with seb derm, but I asked about propecia and hairloss and he said it was a subjective thing because he had no idea how thick my hair was to start with. He said I had lots of hair. I know ive lost quite a bit. Should I order proscar say off the internet and treat myself knowing I have no other medical conditions? or should I wait for a year go back and ask derm for prescription?

Dear Joe, If you do not know that you are experiencing hair loss, I would not recommend that you start treatment with any medication. You should however treat your seb derm first and notice how your overall hair is effected after this treatment.
