Birthcontrol effectiveness..
Hello I'm a 24 yr old female who has noticed my previously thick/full hair thin tremendously in the past 3yrs. My derm suggested I try the birthcontrol pill Diane 35 (i've never taken any type of BCpill) to help with hairloss, but i just read another post on here that said she STARTED to lose her hair once she started taking the pill...which is true? Derm also told me that my iron was low, that it was at 28 and he wanted it to be at 40...could low iron really cause me to lost such excessive amounts of hair? i've just started on a supplement, will i see any significant difference? also the root of the strands that come out is bulbous, so does this mean DHT and if so does low iron cause this...i'm sooo confused with all the information that's swirling around out there and my derm is not the most thourough person.....please HELP!! THanks in advance!
Hello,
There are many causes of female hair loss. You definitely need a full medical work up in order to determine the cause. If you are not getting straight answers from your current doctor, I suggest you see another and try to get to the root (no pun intended) of the problem,
