eyelash loss
For some time now on my right upper eyelid I have been losing my eyelashes. It's only the right half side. I don't use eyelash curlers very much at all, and the thing about it is, my left upper lid is fine. When I put mascara on, you can see maybe 5 eyelashes there. Is this caused by a fungus or parasite possibly? What sort of topical solutions can I use to restore my lashes? PLEASE HELP.
I'm not familiar with a parasite or fungus causing eyelash loss. You might have alopecia areata of the eyelid. I am not aware of any topical solutions that grow eyelashes.
At my clinic, we offer eyelash transplantation. If the problem is alopecia areata of the eyelid, eyelash transplantation might not be a permanent solution, however.
Sincerely,
Dr. B.
