thinning hair in woman
I am a 51 year old woman with thinning hair especially noticeable at my temples and on the top of my head. I have taken synthroid for hypothyrodism for 25 years. Could this contribute to the problem? Also my mother has thinning hair and I wondered if it was hereditary. I heard on the web of a product called aminexil that was successful in women. Do you have any info on this or any other product that might help me grow more hair? Thank you. Eileen Smith
Dear Eileen,
You should diagnose your condition before initiating any treatment. You need to see a dermatologist to differentiate between female pattern hair loss and telogen effluvium due to thyroid disease.
