Laser combs
What is yor honest opnion of these laser combs - truth or fallacy? thanks
I've used laser therapy since 1999 in my office with my patients using a laser hood. Initial skepticism gave way to belief over the course of many many months when some patients (who were not using ANY OTHER treatment) started to respond favorably. I have found that in many ways laser combs are similar to minoxidil.... 1) they both tend to improve the hair you have. 2) they do not restore hair to bald skin 3) people have a hard time judging their results 4) people tend to give up on the treatments WAY TOO SOON.
"Compliance" is how good you are at 'doing the treatment.' Compliance with any treatment goes way, way down if you are not under the supervision of a hair restoration physician.
Have you ever tried to reach a goal with an exercise program without a personal trainer?
It is difficult for most.
I use the laser hood and laser combs in my practice because over the years I've been convinced they help with wound healing and also hair growth. I consider them medical devices that should be used under the guidance of a physician. Laser therapy is not a miracle cure, but it is quite helpful, in my opinion.
Sincerely,
Dr. B.

P.S. The Dateline-NBC patient had good results with the lasercomb---he was very compliant with the treatment AND he was examined by a non-biased observing physician.
