seborrheic keratoses, cysts, and hair
Hi doc, I am a 19 year old male and I have what I would call a seborrheic keratoses near the crown of my scalp. It hasn't been much of a problem cosmetically until recently when a cyst developed underneath it. It has become elevated and is quite an eyesore. The cyst has caused the hair around it to fall out. I am considering getting the spot removed, as well as the cyst. Will the lost hair grow back? If not, what can be done and what will it cost? Thanks
Dear George,
Generally the cyst does not affect the hair follicles around it. If it is removed by a good dermatologist, the cosmetic result should be excellent. Additionally, if the area of hair loss is not scarred, then the hair should regrow well.
