Facial hair and DHT
Testosterone to DHT conversion is the current understanding of mpb. Facial hair is also influenced by DHT. I have never had much facial hair or body hair and I had every hair on my head at 20 that I had at 16. Im 23 and over the past 3 years since my hairloss started getting worse ive noticed more facial hair and slightly more body hair. Can I correlate much more facial hair with maybe an increase in DHT hence more hairloss than I had before?

The changes in your scalp hair are not due to the absolute 'levels' of DHT. In other words, it all depends on your SENSITIVITY to DHT over time, not the amount of DHT. Getting on finasteride 1mg/Propecia (which blocks the conversion of Testosterone to DHT) protects your hair follicles from miniaturization. DHT is responsible for triggering facial hair, pubic hair and body hair growth at puberty. However, interestingly, most men on finasteride (Propecia) don't typically see a significant decrease in facial hair OR body hair when they are on the medication Propecia. If you are not on propecia, your scalp hair loss will continue. Essentially, you have a 75% chance of looking MUCH WORSE if you don't take the medication.
