Dear Doris,
If this is Alopecia Areata then her hair should return, but depends on the degree of hair loss. If the hair loss is mild then most of the hairs will return in a short period of time. However if it is extensive with the lower back of the scalp involved then the results may not be as good or immediate. Vitamins will not work and for a young girl I would not recommend any meds at this time. One option that may work, if she has intensive hair loss is to consider a nice wig. Please keep me updated on her progress.
