Genetic baldness from Father
Am i going to be Bald ? my father and my grandfather on my father\'s side are NOT bald, however but my grandfather on my mother\'s side is bald ( i desperately need to know if am balding)
Male pattern hair loss can come from BOTH sides of the family. Predicting baldness in someone who does not look like they are having thinning or recession of hair REQUIRES a visit to the
'hair doctor'. I typically perform density measurements on patients who are at risk for hair loss. If density measurements show decreasing hair density or caliber, then hair loss is occuring. Remember that hair loss is a progressive miniaturization of hair follicles, not just the shedding of hair.
Have you had a microscopic scalp exam? I perform these measurements for nearly every patient in my office, in addition to standardized medical photos.
