Question Topic

Revivogen

Question

Hi don\'t know whether you can help. I\'m a 23 year old guy, have been using Revivogen for the last 9 weeks, and while I have not noticed much difference in my hair line my concerns are about the effect of the product upon the rest of my body, most specifically my face. I have become worried that my face is fattening and am concerned this could be due to the use of Revivogen. My questions are: 1. Is there any chance that Revivogen could cause my face to fatten, perhaps due to the DHT inhibiting properties, resulting in lowered levels of Testosterone levels, which consequently have lead to alterations in my appearance. Such as you suffer with lowering testosterone levels due to age - causing face sagging etc. 2. Do you know if Revivogen only affects the follicles onto which it is placed, or is it absorbed and transported. Therefore it could effect appearance. Basically, could my use of Revivogen on the follicles affect my appearance facially. If you would feel comfortable answering these questions I would be hugely grateful. My means of making a living is entirely dependent upon my appearance therefore if there is even the slightest chance that the use of Revivogen could effect this it would be appreciated if you could tell me. Understand if you do not feel comfortable offering any conclusive advice, however if you have any information would be hugely grateful. Hoping you can give me some answer. Thankyou John

Answer

Hello, John. I am not affiliated with the makers of Revivogen in any way. The most qualified people to provide detailed information about that product are its manufacturers, so I suggest you contact them with your concerns and ask whether they have had any reports of similar customer experiences; I can only make general observations about the biochemical processes by which its ingredients may operate. The Revivogen website includes a claim that their products have no systemic side effects, but they dont claim that there is no systemic absorption. However, it is not likely that systemic absorption, if there is any, is very significant. DHT is dihydrotestosterone, which is not the same as testosterone. By reducing conversion of testosterone to DHT, the level of testosterone (at least the initial level) is actually increased. Saw palmetto extract is not only active as an aromatase blocker but is reported to bind to testosterone receptors. It is not clear how significant the reports are for a scalp topical, but if it were to be significant it can reduce the efficacy of testosterone even if it does not reduce its concentration; if testosterone receptors are bound by another material such as from saw palmetto extract, testosterone can be present in the area but cannot be used by the cells in that area. In all, it does not appear likely that the topicals you use are responsible for the softening of your facial features in a time period of 9 weeks. However, you can try stopping the treatment for a while and see whether your facial features return to normal. It is more likely that something you take orally may cause that effect. Check your oral regimen carefully for ingredients with estrogen-like activity or for ingredients which may induce water retention. If you dont have the qualifications to asses your regimen, you should ask your physician. If the products you use dont work for you, as you stated, or give you unwanted side effects, (in case your facial features improve after stopping your topical regimen while continuing your oral regimen) you can try other topicals from other companies. Thank you for your question.
