Itchy Spatch Behind Ear On Scalp

Question

I have a small patch on my scalp just behind one ear which is constantly itchy. I try not to scratch but it is very frustrating. There is nothing to be seen. I have even shaved that section and used various solutions but it shall not go away. Could this be a nervous condition and what can I do about it. This has been going on for around 18 months now.

Answer

This is a presentation of seborrheic dermatitis and could be treated by a topical steroid prescription.
