is it a possibility hair cloning will be available in the next 5 years or do feel were still 10 to 20 years away? Id really just like an opinion from a well respected doctor such as yourself. thanks
If you asked Dr. Washenik (he's in charge of the research), he'll tell you "five years." However, if you asked him five years ago "how long it will take," he would have said "five years." What does that say about his progress....?

Interestingly, most patients today reach their hair restoration goals quite easily with an average of two sessions and Propecia. So, while hair multiplication (cloning) is exciting, I really don't see an urgent need for it.
Those that will really benefit will be patients who have had 'depleted' donor from older, more traumatic, and less efficient harvesting methods.
My other concern is that if multiplication becomes available, we will not be transplanting actual follicles, but 'packets of cells' that turn into follicles, so what is going to determine the angle and orientation of the hair growth? I'm sure you can understand how CRITICAL the angle and orientation of each individual hair is!
