Question about Alopecia Areata
Dear Dr Khadavi
I,m Laddy Hosseini. I,m an Iranian people and live in shiraz,Iran. When I saw you in Tv which broadcasts in the USA I prouded of you beacouse you are an Iranian people.Ok dear Dr khadavi , I have some questions about Alopecia Areata. I have got that for many years. All my hair (head& whole body) lost. I used some drugs such as Minoccidil, Corton, and Palsgeraphy and tested nearly all the solutions which can be find in Iran but, I've not been healthy. As you know, it,s very painful to be a woman who has not any hair in her body. So could you tell me what should I do? Is your new hair regrower (REVIVOGEN)useful for me? and what are your important advices to me? Thank you Dr Khadavi.
yours sincerely
Laddan Hosseini
Dear Laddan,
Unfortunately, Revivogen will not work for Alopecia Areata. Alopecia Areata affecting the whole body is very difficult to treat. Steroids, either through injections or by mouth give temporary regrowth of hair, but after some time, all the regrown hairs will be shed. Cyclosporin will also be effective, but it is very toxic to the kidney.
The newest treatments include topical sensitizers that are painted on the areas of involvement. These include DNCB and squaric acid. Over weeks of application by the dermatologist, hair will regrow in these areas. Please inquire about a dermatologist whom performs this procedure to initiate your treatment.
