smoking and hair loss
Does smoking cause hair loss? I am 23 years old and recently quit smoking. I have been trying to target the reason why. I live in England I also heard that lack of sunlight and the water here may have played a part, is this possible? What are some solutions to hair rejuvenation. Any info will be greatly appreciated.
Hello, sorry for the late response but like I said to the other posters, I never received a notification of your posting. Smoking is not good for your general health, and poor general health does sometimes relate to hairloss, but I am not familiar with any serious research directly relating smoking to hair loss. I believe that the several problems you mentioned can be factors in hair loss but its doubtful that they are the major culprits. There are some more profound reasons for hairloss which are also under debate. Hormonal and immunological factors are connected with some hairloss types as major causes. Of course, the fact that the aging process in the body is not following the same rate and time-frame but rather, some cells age faster than others, is quite overlooked. The follicles are actually little organs and not just cells growing near each other. What can activate one cell type may shut down another cell type. Therefore, organ regulation is extremely complex. I believe that the anti-aging approch for the scalp is a crucial step in the ongoing buttle for having a better and healthier-looking scalp.
