Latanoprost
Original Purpose or Use:Used to treat glaucoma and ocular hypertension. FDA Approved?This drug is FDA approved for treating conditions of the eye, including glaucoma and ocular hypertension (or pressure in the eye). Scientific Results:A study was done on stumptail macaque monkeys (a species that has a form of androgenetic alopecia similar to humans) that shows promising results.
Other studies list hypertrichosis as a side-effect. Observed Results:None. Notes:Looks promising but apparantly it is very costly. Side Effects:Side-effects as listed when used topically in the eyes:
stinging and itching
watery eyes
redness of the eyelids
dry eyes
