SUNLIGHT!

Post by bocor »

Just wandering as hair tends to grow on our bodies exposed more to the sun as in just past the short sleeve on the shirt and just above the sock line on the legs as well..Ive seen the study on alopecia areata using uva rays for hair regrowth and the ONLY time i experienced dense regrowth on minox was when i was out in the sun alot hanging out at the pool.My other minox experiences didnt seem to do much at all.I know alot of folks will say it just increased the minox absorption but im not so sure.Over the last 5 years i pretty much wear a hat alot so hardly get any sunlight.I just started over the last couple days getting 30 minutes itleast per day of direct sunlight on thinning areas. Also doing balyam over the last couple days.I will continue with this for awhile because i have no money for treatments.Anyone have any hopes for sunlight?

My father is a nice and shiny NW VII, and he's been a roofer for over 20 years (when he started, he was already a NW V or VI). No hair seems to be growing on his chrome dome anytime soon.

hey bocor
I agree that sunlight seems to yield the best results for my hair growth compared to anything I've tried. About a year and a half ago I was on anti biotics for 6 weeks and was out in the sun alot........I had some serious thickening and some regrowth.........but as soon as I was back at work and off the antibiotics my hair rapidly thinned again. I was also using minox once a day........but nothing else. I'm sure the antibiotics played a part also.

Convinced of the benefits of light energy I thought lasers may yield similar results.........but they definately haven't.......I also bought a small Sperti sunlamp which mimicks 99% of natural light.....apparently. I made sure I shaded the rest of my face and body......and exposed my scalp to 5 min sessions everyother day for several weeks.........this didn't work either! I also have a small UV LED bulb which I've dragged over my head.....nothing.

I'm sure that natural UVA and UVBs would help me alot.........I'm just not sure how to do that without being out in the sun a lot (not always poss of course depending on the season). I've had a look at the Aculas UV wand.....which is supposed to help with some types of loss....especially if psoriasis is involved........I'm just not convinced it will help me.....I've spent too much money on worthless gimmicks before. I do know that if I can reduce my scalp itch and inflammation (which sunlight does so well) I maintain my hair count much better.........but at the mo it's falling out quick! Also the Aculas comes as UVB OR UVA.......but not both in 1 wand.......I don't know which type of UV I need!? Perhaps both.

Yes itlest the SUN is free lol...Ive been trying to get itleast 15-30 minutes per day of sunlight(direct) and do balyam at the same time since i posted this thread.Hair is looking thicker and darker but its been rainy over the last few days so i need to spend extra long next day...Another effect ive noticed is drastically improved mood.Im trying to get alot of my skin exposed to the sun too and i always feel really good after a sunbathing session.I feel there is yet unknown properties of the sun that can be harnessed.I have an interest in what the sungazers have to say but only would look directly at the sun like right before its setting or rising.closed eye sungazing is ok i guess.Im trying to figure out a way to live and work in Los Angeles or Hawaii so i can get sun all the time.Plus im tired of the hicks in Alabama.Ive been to Hawaii twice and it is by far the best place for sun , climate, fresh awesome food etc...

being in the sun raises vitamin d, and vitamin d has been shown to increase T, (and i think also DHT), if anything it might help grow body hair, but definately not scalp hair. you need to remember what makes body hair grow is what kills scalp hair in MPB susepticle men.

iluvhair.........what you say maybe true........but I've also read that Vit D can help with hairloss!? There's no disputing the results sunlight has given me before.............it's the only treatment that yields any results..........thickness and regrowth. It def doesn't increase hairloss.
