Spectral DNC

Post by Tony »

Hello everyone.

Sorry if this has been talked about already. I was wondering if anyone has tried this product or where there might be a review writen about it. Any info would be greatly appreciated.

I was thinking of buying this product from the USA, but not sure if Canadian customs would allow it to pass through.

Ingredients

Minoxidil 5% (meets EP and USP specifications)
Aminexil SP94
Retinol
Nanosomes
Copper Peptides
Vitamin & Mineral Complex

Thanks
Tony.

Hi Tony,

It doesn't seem from the ingredients like anything special to me. Minox is the only ingredient in there that will probably do anything for you. Copper peptides may help, but only Tricomin has shown theirs to be effective in treating hair loss as far as I am aware.

In my personal opinion, you'll get more bang for your buck from using a propylene-glycol-free minox product instead.

Well they do use nanosomes..which should make it better. The problem is there's some debate as to whether the minox itself is encapsulated in nanosomes. If you read up on the product..only the herbal ones are.

Then the Aminexil is "approved" in Europe. So they say they have two "proven" ingredients.

Thank you guys for such a quick response. You seem to have a great community going on here. I hope I can contribute like other members have.

I did like the combination of ingredients in this product and Aminexil SP94 which is not sold in Canada as far as I know. Correct me if I am wrong, but does retinol not increase the absorbtion of minox.

Truely, my main concern was the product being stopped at Canadian customs.

Tony,

I tried a minoxidil formulation with retinol. I can't say if it was any better because I didn't use it very long. I had to use it sparingly because it was more irritating to my scalp. I used it every other night or every fourth night.

Retinol will strip the color out of your hair if you dye your hair. That was my chief complaint with it.

Also, when you first start using it, you will get a peeling effect of the skin on your scalp. That's probably not a bad thing as long as you don't use the retinol every night (and never use it for day time because your scalp will get sunburned very easily)

Thanks Tricia for your reply.

Your right about retinol it could have those effects on people. I think this is a acne treatment as well.

The good thing about this product as proclaimed by the manufacture is the active ingredients are delivered in a technologically advanced vehicle, in tiny micro-spheres called nanosomes.

Apperantly you get better absorption in the affected area. I am currently using rogaine for about 2 months now and having no adverse side affects. So I was was figuring on trying something different to see if I could get better results. Lets say faster results, because of late my hair is just falling out like crazy all over my scalp.

Tony..are you sure all the ingreds are encapsulated in nanosomes though? You'd think the product would be quadruple the price if that were the case.

Someone else listed the ingredients..which included:
"Nanosomes of Ivy, Hops & Capsicum"
but nothing else was "Nanosomes of".

From their website:
DS Laboratories proprietary nanosomes act as the carrier enhancement agent. These nanosomes are about 10 times smaller then cells and penetrate deep into the epidermis and continuously release the active herbal extracts over a 12 hour period
Notice they say "active herbal extracts".

Then it continues:
This allows penetration deeper into the hair follicle then other carrier agent including Tretinoin or Azelaic Acid and further enhances the performance of all the ingredients in Spectral.DNC
If you click for more info on their nanosomes they say this:
This highly advanced delivery system combined with finest quality natural active ingredients insures remarkable results and effectiveness. This technology puts DS Laboratories at the forefront of innovation in dermatology

I did email them and they do claim that MINOX(that's all they said when I asked about ALL the ingredients) is encapsulated in nanosomes..and that yes, their website needs to be updated to clear this up. That was over a week ago..but we'll see.

Jacob I took that line from a vendors webstie (actually a couple of websites said the same thing). I presume they get their info from the manufacture.

If you emailed them(the manufacture), I am sure they would have the right answer.

Thats why I am so interested in purchasing this product. The worst that would come out from this is I would have another month supply on minox.

But I think that's where the ppl responding to me are getting their information from too. The responses I got were worded similarly to what's on the website, until I kept asking specifically if ALL the ingreds were encapsulated.

I'm sure it's still a good product. I'm just puzzled as to why they word things the way they do. And if they don't change the wording then I'm going to conclude they're just be deceptive on purpose.

I ended up ordering the product Jacob. I ordered from the USA and I sure hope I get the thing. I will let you know what the product says about what ingredients are encapsulated in nanosomes.

Just received my product today. It clearly states on the box that it is the only product to encapsulate minoxidil and aminexil SP94 in nanosomes.

Well lets see just how good this product is. I am hoping for the best. Will report in a couple of months if I see any difference compared to regular minoxidil. :)

Tony..what exactly does it say though? We were told this in another forum, and when asked to see the product insert(it was emailed to me) it said no such thing. The only ingredients listed as nanosomal were the herbal ones. It even said "nansomes of hops" or whatever. Nothing like that for the minox or aminexil.

What also STILL makes me wonder is..at least the last time I checked their website they STILL hadn't made a clarification there. I had pointed this out to them- that even their website isn't clear about what is nanosomal(although if you read between the lines and look at other sections of their website..you'll see again it's the herbal ingredients that are encapsulated). The guy admitted they needed to clarify things.
You'll even see them saying the nanosomes allow for the other ingredients to take a ride along with them.

I kind of get the feeling they will eventually make them nanosomal, and won't "clarify" it on the website etc until they do.

BTW..I had asked them if they were ever going to come out with an "all natural" product. It's possible they will. So I'm not out to destroy the company  ..I just don't get why they'd lead ppl to believe it's nanosomal minox and yet not just say so clearly on their website etc.
