Arch Personal Care Products announced the development of Vital Hair and Scalp Complex (proposed INCI: Water (aqua) (and) Saccharum officinarum (sugar cane) extract (and) Citrus medica limonum (lemon) fruit extract (and) betaine (and) hexylene glycol (and) Pyrus malus (apple) fruit extract (and) Camellia sinensis leaf extract (and) hexapeptide-11), a novel antiaging technology for hair and scalp. According to the company, the product addresses aging at the cellular level to improve follicle health and reduce hair loss so as to ensure healthier and more youthful looking hair.
The company reports an in vivo half-head study was performed, consisting of three different evaluations, to examine the ability the product to improve hair follicle integrity. The first was a subjective evaluation of the hair after a five day in-use study. The second part of the evaluation was the actual hair combing study, which was followed by a final evaluation consisting of scanning electron micrographs offering a comparative analysis of hair removed from the head via the combing study. The results showed that the participants overwhelmingly indicated the side of the head treated with the ingredient was softer (87%) and stronger than before treatment, along with 66% of panelists noting smoother hair following treatment with this complex. The results from the combing study reportedly indicated that the side treated with the ingredient demonstrated a 17% improvement in just five days, as indicated by the reduction in hair loss.
